Frequently Asked Questions
What types of therapy do you offer?
I offer individual therapy for adults and couples therapy using evidence-based approaches. My specialties include anxiety, depression, parental mental health, OCD, life transitions, and relationship challenges. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and the Gottman Method for couples.
Are you accepting new clients?
Yes, I am currently accepting new clients for virtual therapy. Please visit my Contact page or Request a Consultation to get started. I see clients online during East Coast business hours (9 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET) on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
Do you offer in-person therapy?
I do not offer in-person sessions. I only offer secure, HIPAA-compliant virtual therapy sessions for adults and couples.
What states can you see clients in?
I am a PSYPACT Participating Psychologist, which allows me to provide virtual therapy across all participating PSYPACT states and jurisdictions. I am licensed in Virginia and Arizona and in-network in these states with Aetna and Optum/United Healthcare through Alma. Clients residing in other PSYPACT states work with me via private pay, with superbills available for possible insurance reimbursement (though this varies by plan and state).
PSYPACT Participating States & Jurisdictions (as of early 2025):
Alabama • Arizona • Arkansas • Colorado • Connecticut • Delaware • District of Columbia •Florida • Georgia • Idaho • Illinois • Indiana • Kansas • Kentucky • Maine • Maryland •Michigan • Minnesota • Mississippi • Missouri • Nebraska • Nevada • New Hampshire • New Jersey • North Carolina • North Dakota • Ohio • Oklahoma • Pennsylvania • Rhode Island •South Carolina • South Dakota • Tennessee • Texas • Utah • Vermont • Virginia •Washington • West Virginia • Wisconsin • Wyoming • Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands
Do you take insurance?
I’m in-network with Aetna and Optum/UnitedHealthcare through Alma in Virginia and Arizona. This means that if you live in one of these two states and have a qualifying plan, your sessions with me may be covered by insurance. If you’re located in another PSYPACT state, you can still work with me as a private-pay client. I’m happy to provide a superbill if you’d like to submit for potential out-of-network reimbursement.

Verify Your Insurance Coverage:
You can quickly and securely check whether your specific insurance plan qualifies by using Alma’s benefits verification tool. This tool allows you to enter your insurance details and confirm whether your sessions with me would be covered—and what your estimated costs might be.
How much do sessions cost?
My session fees are:
- Individual therapy: $200 per 53-minute session
- Couples therapy: $200 per 53-minute session
I also offer extended sessions when clinically indicated. I find this most helpful in couples therapy; 90 minutes ($300 session) often allows for us to work through more material. Please note that couples therapy is typically not covered by insurance, as most plans do not recognize relationship concerns as a billable diagnosis.
What is your approach to therapy?
I take a collaborative, compassionate, and evidence-based approach. Cognitive behavioral therapy is my primary theoretical orientation. I emphasize self-compassion, common humanity, and the strength of the therapeutic relationship. My goal is to help you feel understood and empowered as we work toward meaningful change together.
What kinds of issues do you treat?
Some of the concerns I commonly help clients with include:
- Anxiety (generalized, social, health-related, etc.)
- Depression
- OCD and intrusive thoughts
- Parental and postpartum mental health
- Relationship and communication challenges
- Life transitions, stress, and identity questions
I am not a jack-of-all trades and there are many concerns I have no expertise to treat, including, but not limited to, substance use disorders and eating disorders. Please feel free to reach out to clarify if I have the skills necessary to support you in therapy.
How do I get started?
The first step is to request a free 15-minute consultation to determine if we’re a good fit. From there, we’ll schedule your initial intake session and begin working together.
